For this project I wanted to create my ideal woman, the face of the collection, and my target audience. My ideal woman is someone who is very close to my heart she is someone whom I aspire to be someone whom I hope a lot of people aspire to be.

 

I chose to use a woman of colour to model because I don’t believe models of colour get the recolonization and respect they deserve in the fashion industry. I want my Ideal woman to inspire this generation to change, to see that black is beautiful, to see that curves are beautiful, to see that natural hair is beautiful. To give a voice to those who feel unappreciated and forgotten.

 

I want my collection to show power and confidence and for that my ideal woman has to be that and a lot more, she has to be phenomenal she has to be real, she has to be relatable. But she is far from perfect she is a normal woman with normal issues. It's the clothes she wears that give her strength and confidence, they make her feel sexy or vulnerable. My collection will add on to t his ideal woman the clothes will make this woman be whatever she wishes to be.

 

The textile has been created from 100% reused and recycled fabrics and clothing from all over the world. I have used this to also represent attributes the ideal woman should have; she's sexy, strong, independent, fun, ambitious, flirty but she is also vulnerable and fragile, she's human.
